The Oilenco Wireline Retrievable Subsurface Safety Valve (WRSV) is a self-equalising, flapper type safety valve intended to be installed inside a Tubing Retrievable Subsurface Safety Valve (TRSSSV) that is no longer functioning correctly.

HOW IT WORKS
Operating on a fail-safe philosophy (normally closed), it requires a constant hydraulic supply to maintain the valve in the open position. Loss of hydraulic pressure will result in immediate closure of the valve.
Our WRSV range is sized to suit TRSSSV’s with a seal bore of 4.312in or greater, commonly found in 5-1/2in completions. They can be universally adapted to suit any existing TRSSSV with the use of lock mandrels, spacer extensions and seal stacks, and can be connected directly to the Oilenco Dual Isolation Bore Hybrid Straddle or fitted directly to other market leading safety valve straddle packer systems.
After the TRSSSV has been locked out and control line communication established, the WRSV can be installed and operated from surface via the existing control line.
Oilenco Wireline Retrievable Safety Valves are exclusively designed, manufactured and tested in the UK [Aberdeen] and fully comply with the requirements defined in API Specification 14A for subsurface safety valve equipment and API Q1 quality management system.
Oilenco is one of the very few WRSV service centres in the UK capable of providing full service / repair / redress and API 14A Annex C mandatory functional testing.
